Pashinyan says education key to prosperity in Armenia![]() February 24, 2026 - 18:57 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A good life in Armenia today is accessible to all those who are able and willing to follow the path of education, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the groundbreaking ceremony of the TUMO Engineering and Applied Sciences Complex (EUCC). “It is accessible regardless of age. Conversely, a good life is not accessible to anyone who does not adopt education as the path leading to it,” Pashinyan said. The complex is being built near the Hrazdan Gorge in Yerevan, adjacent to the existing TUMO Center. The 18,000-square-meter building has been designed by the internationally renowned architectural firm MVRDV. The complex will include TUMO Labs offering educational, engineering and incubation programs; 42 Yerevan, the local branch of the French programming school; research and applied laboratories; co-working and co-financing platforms; a conference center; and business spaces. The total cost of the project amounts to 42.5 million euros, of which 12.5 million euros is a grant provided by the European Union to the “Simonyan” Educational Foundation under the “EU for Innovation” program signed between Armenia and the EU. Construction of the EUCC is expected to strengthen Armenia’s position as a technological and engineering hub. According to officials, the project will create a unique STEM cluster in the region, open new investment and business cooperation opportunities, and provide education and experience aligned with global standards. Pashinyan thanked the project’s implementers, EU partners, the TUMO Center and the author of the project. Since 2020, TUMO Labs and 42 Yerevan have provided innovative education to thousands of beneficiaries and implemented more than 55 projects with local and international companies, creating an effective environment for knowledge transfer and technological product development. Yerevan will host the 2024 edition of the World Congress On Information Technology (WCIT). Rustam Badasyan said due to the lack of such regulation, the state budget is deprived of VAT revenues.
