Iran to decide when war will end, Araghchi says

PanARMENIAN.Net - Although the war was initiated by the United States and Israel, Iran will decide when it ends, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.

“We have had two decades to study the failures of the U.S. military east and westward. We have drawn the necessary lessons,” Iran’s top diplomat wrote on X, Tansim reported.

He was referring to U.S. military interventions in Iraq and Afghanistan in the early 2000s.

“Bombing our capital has no impact on our ability to wage war. Decentralized ‘mosaic defense’ enables us to determine when and how the war will end,” Araghchi stressed.

Following strikes on Iran by the United States and Israel, Turkey has effectively halted individual crossings of Iranian citizens into its territory, Factor.am writes, citing Turkiye Today.

Although Turkey’s Ministry of Trade stated that official land border checkpoints remain open, only Turkish citizens have been permitted to enter from Iran, while other individuals have been held at border gates.

Turkey’s Foreign Ministry has urged its citizens in Iran to remain in safe areas and avoid travel unless strictly necessary due to the sensitive security situation. Authorities have also denied reports circulating on social media about mass illegal border crossings.
