PanARMENIAN.Net - Amid the tense situation in Iran, the local Armenian community in Tehran has not suffered any damage so far, according to preliminary information.

The statement was made by Movses Keshishian, editor-in-chief of the Tehran-based weekly Arax, Factor.am reported.

“The Armenian community in Iran has not suffered damage up to this moment. International internet access is cut off here, so I cannot say more at this time,” he said.

According to him, restrictions on internet access have significantly complicated communication and the transfer of information with people in Iran.

On the morning of February 28, Israel and the U.S. began strikes on Tehran and other regions of Iran. On the first day of the attacks, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several other high-ranking officials were killed. In response, Iran launched strikes on Israeli territory and U.S. military bases in the Middle East. A state of emergency has been declared in Israel.
