Armenia spends AMD 14.5M on Bridge of Peace meeting![]() March 9, 2026 - 13:30 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia spent about 14.5 million drams in February to organize a meeting with representatives of Azerbaijan under the Bridge of Peace initiative. The information was provided by Armenia’s Security Council Office, Sputnik Armenia reported. “The financing of the Bridge of Peace initiative with Azerbaijan held on February 13 and 14, was carried out using state funds. The total funding amounts to approximately 14,469,000 drams,” the Security Council said in a written response. It is noted that the editorial team had requested information from the Security Council Office about the total cost of all events organized within the framework of the Bridge of Peace initiative. However, only the expenses for the February meeting were provided. In late October 2025, the first bilateral roundtable was held in Yerevan with the participation of civil society representatives and leaders of non-governmental organizations from Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armenia’s Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan also attended the meeting. Later, in November, representatives of Armenia’s civil society traveled to Baku again as part of the Bridge of Peace initiative. It was also reported that 17.55 million drams were allocated from Armenia’s state budget to ensure the participation of Armenian experts in the roundtable held in Baku. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
