Over 3,100 killed in Iran, rights group says![]() March 20, 2026 - 14:27 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The death toll in Iran has exceeded 3,100, the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported. According to HRANA, 1,394 of the victims were civilians, including at least 210 children. At the same time, 1,153 deaths were classified as military, while the fate of 639 individuals remains unknown. On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out airstrikes on Iran, resulting in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran retaliated with strikes toward Israel as well as Gulf countries hosting U.S. military bases. Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
