Deadline set for military deferment applications![]() March 26, 2026 - 16:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The deadline for submitting documents to obtain deferment from compulsory military service for citizens working in education, culture, and sports has been set for April 30, 2026, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports said. Citizens with significant achievements in science and education, culture, and sports can apply to the ministry for deferment between April 1 and May 1, 2026. According to the ministry, applicants or their representatives must submit the application (in the prescribed format) along with the required documents—either originals or copies—via email to secretariat@escs.am. Representatives must also provide a power of attorney. To improve efficiency, the ministry recommends submitting applications and accompanying documents in digital format whenever possible. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed.
