Investigation into Karapetyan case spans 135 volumes

PanARMENIAN.Net - The pre-trial investigation in the criminal case involving Strong Armenia party leader Samvel Karapetyan has been completed, and the case consists of 135 volumes, lawyer Aram Vardevanyan said on his Facebook page.

He noted that the defense was given about 15 hours to review these “volumes.”

“Samvel Karapetyan, chairman of the Strong Armenia party, has been unlawfully detained for 282 days for speech defending our Mother See. The pre-trial investigation in this unlawful criminal case has been completed. It consists of 135 volumes. We were given around 15 hours to review these ‘volumes.’ By this action, the Investigative Committee itself acknowledged that this case does not concern Samvel Karapetyan. Be assured, we will overcome this as well, and there will be many victories. The rule of law must prevail. Freedom for all political prisoners…” the post said.

The Investigative Committee of Armenia reported that the pre-trial investigation into the criminal proceedings involving Samvel Karapetyan, owner of Electric Networks of Armenia, and company executives has been completed. The case has been sent to the supervising prosecutor for approval of the indictment and referral to court.
