Citizens of 60 countries evacuated via Armenia from Iran

PanARMENIAN.Net - Between February 28 and April 1, citizens of 60 countries were transported from Iran through the territory of Armenia, the Foreign Ministry reported.

Among neighboring states, Georgia, Iran, and Turkey were listed.

From the Americas, those included were the U.S., Guyana, Dominica, Canada, Mexico, and Uruguay.

Among European countries were Austria, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Finland, and France.

From Eurasian and Asia-Pacific regions, the countries included Australia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Turkmenistan, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, China, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Russia, Uzbekistan, and the Philippines.

From the Middle East and Africa, the list included Bahrain, Guinea, Egypt, Ethiopia, Yemen, Zimbabwe, Iraq, Lebanon, Comoros, South Africa, Morocco, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Syria, and Kuwait.

Where necessary, Armenia provided assistance in obtaining entry visas.

On February 28, Israel and the U.S. carried out airstrikes on Iran, resulting in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran retaliated against Israel and Persian Gulf states hosting U.S. bases.
