Suspect admits shooting Parakar community head

PanARMENIAN.Net - A suspect in the murder case of former Parakar community head Vоlodya Grigoryan has admitted in court to carrying out the shooting.

During a court hearing in the case of the killing of Grigoryan, a video of the accused’s confession was presented. In the footage shown in court, he stated that he personally fired at Grigoryan, according to Haykakan Zhamanak.

“I was hiding in the bushes; as soon as Volodya Grigoryan and the others came out, I opened fire,” he said.

Earlier, it was reported that on September 23, 2025, at around 23:52, Armenia’s Interior Ministry police received a report of gunshots on Yerevanyan highway in the settlement of Merdzavan, Armavir region. As a result of the incident, Parakar community head Volodya Grigoryan and criminal police officer Karen Abrahamyan were killed, while Artsrun Galstyan was injured.

Within the framework of the case, Narek Ohanyan and Gevorg Harutyunyan have been arrested.
