Bright Armenia to run in parliamentary elections![]() April 14, 2026 - 14:52 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Bright Armenia party has decided to participate in the upcoming parliamentary elections, its leader Edmon Marukyan announced in a Facebook video message. “After studying the political landscape, we realized that the agenda we offer — ensuring a calm, normal life and finally ending chaos without adventurism — is not being represented in Armenia’s political field today,” Marukyan said. He noted that for about six months they had tried to form a unified opposition with a single front and list, but those efforts were unsuccessful. Marukyan did not specify who their candidate for prime minister would be. Journalist and political commentator Karpis Pashoyan has joined Marukyan, suspending his journalistic activities. He announced this on his Facebook page. “I have made a very difficult decision: I am temporarily suspending my work as a journalist and political commentator to participate in the elections together with my close friend and ally Edmon Marukyan and Bright Armenia. …We are not entering the obsessive and cheap race of small forces to become prime minister. Instead, we will speak about the existential threats facing our country and present ways to overcome them. We are ready for the struggle and will go all the way — get ready,” Pashoyan wrote. Parliamentary elections in Armenia are scheduled for June 7, 2026. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
