General Khachaturov placed on wanted list

PanARMENIAN.Net - Major General Grigory Khachaturov has been declared wanted, Armenia’s Prosecutor General’s Office said, according to Radar Armenia.

The decision followed a review of a special appeal regarding the application of detention as a preventive measure.

“On December 25, 2025, following consideration of the special review appeal, the Anti-Corruption Court of Appeal ruled to apply detention as a preventive measure against the accused Major General Grigory Khachaturov,” the statement said.

Earlier, in December 2023, Khachaturov’s detention had been replaced with bail and administrative supervision. The Anti-Corruption Court of Appeal, chaired by Judge Armen Hovhannisyan, had partially upheld his appeal against extending the detention period.

The criminal case against Khachaturov concerns land alienation. He is charged with appropriation of particularly large amounts of real estate acquired through abuse of official position.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the case involves the territory of a former military unit, allegedly sold to Khachaturov during the tenure of then Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and registered under a third party’s name. There are 13 defendants in the case, including former Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.
