Karapetyan jokes about probe into Pashinyan claims

PanARMENIAN.Net - Narek Karapetyan, who heads the electoral list of the Strong Armenia party, commented during the campaign on the “mushroom” controversy involving Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“Did he eat mushrooms or not? We need to investigate it. The court should investigate it. I think there should be an open trial, and the court should examine whether he ate mushrooms or not, whether it was one ton or however much he ate, and at what moments he was under the influence of mushrooms,” Karapetyan said, according to Aysor.am .

He also joked that whenever he logs onto Facebook, he assumes some kind of influence is involved, adding: “I hope it’s the mushrooms.”

During a May 7 press conference, Strong Armenia prime ministerial candidate Samvel Karapetyan claimed that Pashinyan had consumed hallucinogenic mushrooms in China. The prime minister responded by saying he would file a lawsuit against Karapetyan over the statement.
