Pashinyan announces state takeover of ENA

PanARMENIAN.Net - Electric Networks of Armenia will very soon become state property, Prime Minister and Civil Contract party candidate for prime minister Nikol Pashinyan said on May 13 during an election campaign event in the town of Ashtarak in Aragatsotn Province.

“Electric Networks of Armenia will de jure become state property,” he said, adding that this would happen very soon, according to Pastinfo.

“The company is already de facto owned by the state,” Pashinyan noted.

In July 2025, former head of Armenia’s State Control Service Romanos Petrosyan was appointed acting manager of Electric Networks of Armenia CJSC. Later, in November 2026, Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission revoked the electricity distribution license of the company owned by the Tashir Group.

The Tashir Group belongs to Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia party, who is under house arrest.
