Direct Yerevan-Bucharest flights to launch July 1![]() May 16, 2026 - 10:50 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A second airline will begin operating direct Yerevan-Bucharest flights starting July 1, amid growing bilateral tourism flows. On that occasion, Armenia’s ambassador to Romania, Tigran Galstyan, hosted Matt Ian David, chief executive of DAN AIR, and communications and marketing manager Irina Elena Dregiceanu at the Armenian Embassy in Romania, the embassy said. The sides discussed preparations for launching the new direct Yerevan-Bucharest route, as well as initiatives aimed at increasing tourism flows. They also addressed the organization of regular cargo transportation to promote bilateral trade turnover and, in that context, opportunities for cooperation with business circles in both countries. Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
