Zurabyan says Azerbaijan dominates peace model

PanARMENIAN.Net - Levon Zurabyan, vice chairman of the Armenian National Congress and the alliance’s candidate for prime minister, said Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has proposed “a peace model in which Azerbaijan is the master and ruler of the country.”

According to Zurabyan, Azerbaijan would determine which parts of Armenia’s sovereign territory remain under Armenian control and which would pass to Azerbaijan, Panorama.am reported.

“Azerbaijan will decide the content of Armenia’s Constitution by removing the Declaration of Independence from it, fully understanding that this destroys the legal foundations of our state.

“Under Azerbaijan’s orders, pressure is now being exerted on the Armenian Apostolic Church. They want to eliminate our spiritual values, erase our historical memory and national identity, and present our knowledge and memory of the Armenian Genocide as some kind of externally imposed imperial propaganda.

“We will establish reconciliation with Turkey and Azerbaijan, but in our model of peace, we will ensure the right to full control over Armenia’s internationally recognized territory,” he said.

The election campaign that began on May 8 will continue until June 5. June 6 will be observed as a day of silence, while elections will take place on June 7.
