Opposition MP urges shorter military training

PanARMENIAN.Net - Tigran Abrahamyan says reserve military training could be shortened by several days without affecting the planned program.

The 25-day military training camps for reservists could be shortened, but the authorities are unwilling to take that step, opposition MP Tigran Abrahamyan of the I Have Honor parliamentary faction said in a Facebook post.

According to Abrahamyan, the government views the training period "as a form of punishment."

"The duration of the 25-day training camps could be reduced by four to five days, but the authorities continue to treat it as punishment and have not taken that step.

With proper planning and an efficient distribution of work, the planned program, including combat duty, can be completed in 20 to 21 days.

They are unnecessarily taking up people's time while also wasting state resources.

For them, the priority is that the army command has new uniforms and that political instructions are carried out promptly," Abrahamyan wrote.
