KARABAKH SETTLEMENT DISCUSSED AT ALIYEV'S VISIT TO TEHERAN

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today Azeri President Heydar Aliyev's official visit to Iran will be finished. Signing ten agreements on cooperation in the spheres of politics, economy, culture, agriculture, tourism will become its result. In the course of the negotiations the Iranian and Azeri heads concerned questions connected with the Caspian Sea legal status. The question of the Karabakh conflict settlement was also discussed by Heydar Aliyev and Mohammad Khatami. At the joint press conference held today the Iranian President stated that "the Nagorno Karabakh problem should exclusively be solved via peaceful means." "Iran's position is known. Official Teheran condemns any aggression and is concerned about the situation in Nagorno Karabakh, which has become object of the dispute between the two neighbor countries," - Khatami said. In the course of the conversation with Heydar Aliyev Iranian religious leader Ayatollah Khomenei also stressed that "Baku and Yerevan should solve the territorial conflict by means of negotiations."
