Tehran expects Washington to take concrete steps instead of making statements

PanARMENIAN.Net - Obama Administration should carry out great work to eliminate the consequences of its predecessors' policy, Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Seyed Ali Sagayn told a news conference in Yerevan. "We must see that US Administration is unwilling to pursue its predecessors' policy. Tehran closely follows official Washington's statements. We expect them to take concrete steps instead of making speeches," Iranian diplomat stressed.

Sagayn also reminded of Obama's statement on Iranian elections being the country's internal affair. "I don't think Tehran's current foreign policy led to the country's isolation. On the contrary, it helped Iran to become a stakeholder in the region," the Ambassador said.

With regard to Iranian-Israeli relations, the diplomat characterized the Zionist regime as a "usurper which committed a number of crimes in Gaza." "Maintaining friendly ties with such regime is out of the questions," he stressed.
