GEORGIAN GUERILLAS THREATEN TO BLOW UP ABKHAZIAN RAILWAY IF GEORGIAN JURISDICTION NOT RESTORED IN REGION
Georgian refugees from Abkhazia demand for the Transcaucasian stripe of the railway to be restored only after restoration of Georgian jurisdiction over the region and return of refugees to Gali region. As reported by "Arminfo" agency referring to Georgian sources, representatives of the Refugee League of Abkhazia stated that restoration of rail communication via Abkhazia will result in strengthening the economy of "the separatist republic," which in their opinion, is inadmissible. The demand is supported by commander of "White Legion" guerilla detachment Zurab Samushia, who stated that the detachment fighters are ready to struggle employing all means to protect the interests of the Georgian state and can blow up the railway if necessary.
