Russian State Duma not deprived Grigol Vashadze of Russian citizenship

Russian State Duma refused to take action to deprive the Foreign Minister of Georgia Grigol Vashadze of Russian citizenship. Previously, Deputy from "Fair Russia" Semen Bagdasarov made such a proposal.  

The head of the Duma's Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building Vladimir Pligin told that Russia does not have the institution of deprivation of Russian citizenship its citizens, even if the person, along with Russian  has a foreign passport.  



Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Konstantin Kosachev said that Vashadze is an official, which expresses a nation-wide position, ITAR-TASS reports.  



Meanwhile Vashadze welcomed the intention to deprive him of Russian citizenship, Georgia Online reports. The representative of the Georgian Foreign Ministry Ia Makharadze stated that, according to the minister, Russia's desire to deprive him of citizenship is belated.
