Larisa Alaverdyan: Armenian National Assembly must not depend of Turkish parliament

PanARMENIAN.Net - Unlike Armenian parliament, which is in a permanent standby, Turkish parliament is more active and knows what its doing, Heritage opposition faction MP Larisa Alaverdyan told a news conference in Yerevan, commenting on RA-Turkey Protocols ratification process. According to her, Armenian Parliament's position meets Turkey's interests, showing who exactly controls the ball, speaking in football diplomacy terms. "I don't care about the steps Turkish Parliament will undertake, I'm interested in RA NA's steps," Larisa Alaverdyan stated, adding that Armenian National Assembly must depend on its own decisions only.

Dwelling on USA's position in rapprochement process, Alaverdyan noted that its actions suggest intention to influence Armenia's or Turkey's actions, despite Turkey's trying to pursue its own policy. According to the parliamentarian, Turkey managed to delay Armenian Genocide recognition issue for another year.
