  MPs from Republican Party and Prosperous Armenia support Sassun MikayelyanDecember 14, 2009 - 21:43 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - 21 MPs from National Assembly (mostly representatives of Republican Party and Prosperous Armenia) have addressed an open letter to Armenia's President, calling for Sasun Mikayelyan's release. The parliamentarians claim that former MP Sasun Mikayelyan has serious health problems which may be aggravated in prison circumstances.In their letter, Armenian MPs request President Serzh Sargsyan to grant Mikayelyan amnesty, regardless of the reason of arrest. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova.
