BROADCASTING RUSSIAN TV CHANNELS IN ARMENIA DISCUSSED

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today President of Armenia Robert Kocharian received Minister of Press and Television Broadcasting of Russia Mikhail Lesin and Director General of ORT first Russian TV channel Constantine Ernst. The aim of their visit is realization of accords achieved in the course of President Putin's visit to Yerevan. As it is known the heads of the two countries have decided to intensify information exchange between Armenia and Russia. Answering the journalists' questions in "Zvartnots" Yerevan airport, Mikhail Lesin stated in the course of the visit matters concerning broadcasting Russian TV channels in Armenia would be discussed. Programs of ORT, RTR, NTV, TV6, MuzTV, AST Russian TV companies are being retranslated in Armenia on decimeter channels. Moscow considers it insufficient and reckons Armenian leadership will give ORT a meter channel.
