KfW crediting to speed up construction of small hydropower stations in Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Currently, there are 142 licensed small hydropower stations in Armenia, including 70 still undergoing construction, RA Small Hydropower Stations Union chairman Naira Nahapetyan said.

As she stated at 4t Union conference, KfW crediting will allow speeding up construction of small hydropower stations in Armenia.

CBA Deputy President Vache Gabrielyan, in turn, expressed hope that KfW –provided Euro 18 million crediting will promote development and modernization of small hydropower stations.

As he noted, in July 2010 CBA will announce competition for Assistance to Renewable Energy project partnership among Armenian banks.

Currently 6 Armenian banks are actively financing construction of small hydropower stations.
