ARMENIA IS WORRIED WITH THE SITUATION IN ABKHAZIAOctober 11, 2001 - 18:53 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - While answering the questions of National Assembly deputies, the Armenia foreign minister Vartan Oskanyan has stated that the Armenia's government is worried with the situation in Abkhazia. As it is known the occupation of several villages in Abkhazia resulted in the death of citizens with Armenian origin. According to the minister, the exact number of killed people is not known. Oskanyan has noted the government has contacts with the interested sides in order to receive information on what actually happened in Armenian village Naa. The head of foreign ministry has stated the goal of the consultations that are being held is to ease the tension regarding Armenian population of Abkhazia.![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert. On June 10, Azerbaijani President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will leave for Turkey on a working visit. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Moscow on April 22 to hold talks with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
