AZERI OPPOSITION FORETELLS EPOCH OF AUTHORITARIANISM IN COUNTRY

PanARMENIAN.Net - An epoch of authoritarianism begins in Azerbaijan. Former Azeri president Ayaz Mutalibov said yesterday in the air of "Echo of Moscow" radio when commenting on the appointment of the Azeri leader's son as prime minister of the republic. In his words, "in Azerbaijan democratic attributes serve as kind of a show case, camouflaging the real dictate and authoritarianism." Leader of "Musavat" Azeri party Isa Hambar in his turn underscored, "democracy is fully usurped by the ruling regime." Opposition leaders consider that "the performance played in the parliament" is authored by representatives of the closest circles of the president, who "made use of his feebleness and serious illness."
