RA Public TV Art Council to select Eurovision participantsJune 19, 2010 - 15:34 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the Council of the Armenian Public Television and Radio Company Alexan Harutyunyan said that from now on the Art Council of the Armenian Public TV will be selecting participants of Eurovision song contest. Starting from 2011, the Armenian audience will choose not the participant but the song he/she will perform at the contest, Harutyunyan told a press conference on June 19. Commenting on 2010 Eurovision, he said that the performance of Eva Rivas was good enough, though the singer has not managed to gain the best place for Armenia. Harutyunyan also pointed to the factor of jury's opinion for selection of the winner. "If the winner of Eurovision were selected by popular vote, Armenia would have either won the competition or gained another top place," Harutyunyan concluded.
