REPRESENTATIVE OF STEPANAKERT RULING PARTY WON MAYOR ELECTIONS

PanARMENIAN.Net - According to preliminary information, candidate of "Democratic Artsakh" Union" ruling party Hamik Avanesian won the elections of NKR capital mayor. The final information on the results of the elections will be published by the election committee tonight.

13 mayor candidates altogether were registered by the city election committee. Seven of them withdrew candidatures later. Acting Mayor Boris Arushanian also withdrew his candidature and applied to the constituency to vote for Hamik Avanesian. Avanesian headed the executive committee of Stepanakert city council in 70-s. Representative of "Dashnaktsutyun" party, Deputy of the National Assembly Maxim Mirzoyan, who had also headed the city administration in his time, was his main rival at the elections.
