Release of U.S. diplomatic cables PR move

PanARMENIAN.Net - The release of the U.S. diplomatic cables by Wikileaks was a campaign aimed against the Obama administration, an Armenian expert said.

During the December 2 press conference, Yervand Bozoyan noted that this will damage the United States’ authority but did not mention who could benefit from the “leakage”.

Meanwhile, information security expert Tigran Kocharyan disagreed with the opinion, saying that the information was for most part known and was to all appearance released with the U.S.’s consent to “make some countries quiet.”

“This was just a PR move,” he said.

Kocharyan did not exclude that documents regarding Armenian oligarchs can also be published.

However, he noted, as long as Armenia doesn’t troubles the U.S. foreign policy the documents can remain unpublished.
