After the 3rd tour, Yevgeny Sveshnikov of Latvia tops the standings, followed by Hovhannes Gabuzyan, FIDE master Robert Aghasaryan (Armenia), Nikita Matinyan (Russia) and international master Hamed Musavia of Iran. At Berkeley open tournament, Armenian chess player Tatev Abrahamyan won the title of a grandmaster.
