RA President conveys invitation of Catholicos of All Armenians to Ieronymos II to visit Armenia

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, who is on a state visit to Greece, met with Ieronymos II, Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, to discuss the Armenian-Greek relations, the two people’s friendship and relations of the Armenian and Greek churches.

The Armenian leader conveyed invitation of Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II to Ieronymos II to visit Armenia, saying that the visit will strengthen the friendship between the Armenian Apostolic Church and Greek Orthodox Church.

Mr. Sargsyan also visited the Memorial of Unknown Soldier to lay a wreath.

As part of his state visit, the Armenian President met with President of the Hellenic Parliament Philippos Petsalnikos and Prime Minister of Greece Georgios Papandreou.

Mr. Sargsyan met with the Chairman of the opposition New Democracy party and representatives of three traditional Armenian parties in Greece, the RA presidential press service reported.
