WTO: Armenia’s joining WTO Agreement on Government Procurement unprecedented![]() February 2, 2011 - 17:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Ministry of Economy hosted a working meeting on Armenia’s making a party to the World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on Government Procurement. Chairman of the Committee on Government Procurement at the WTO Nicholas Niggli and Secretary of the Committee Robert Anderson participated in the working meeting in Yerevan. Armenia’s joining the Agreement and its impact on increasing Armenia’s ratings were in the focus of the meeting, the press service of the RA Ministry of Economy reported. The WTO representatives noted that Armenia’s joining the WTO Agreement on Government Procurement was unprecedented from the point of view of time interval and can serve as an example for other countries – parties to the Agreement. ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
