7,9% crime rate growth reported in Armenia in 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - In 2010, crime rate in Armenia grew by 7,9% compared with 2009 (15477 cases against 14339).

According to a report submitted by Deputy Chief of Armenian Police , the increase is explained by discovery of 3933 crimes perpetrated before 2010.

As the report notes, active struggle against latent crimes, as well as non-reporting of crimes committed continues.

At the same time, 2,1% decrease in grave crimes rate was observed in 2010 compared to 2009 results, the report said.
