Dick Advocaat: friendly against Iran dress rehearsal before Armenia match

PanARMENIAN.Net - On February 9, national football teams will hold friendly matches under the UEFA calendar.

Armenia will rival Georgia in Cyprus, as a preparatory match prior to the one with Russia in the UEFA EURO-2012 qualification group due March 26 in Yerevan.

In its turn, Russia will play vs. Iran in Abu Dhabi. Russia Chief Coach Dick Advocaat said that the starting line-up in the match with Iran will be similar to the one to play vs. Armenia.

“The friendly with Iran is a dress rehearsal before the match with Armenia. I do always want to celebrate victory, but at the same time I want the team to display a good football. Nevertheless, the main task is to get to a main competition of Euro-2012. If we defeat Armenia, all previous failures will be forgotten. This time Armenia also has chances to qualify for the main competition,” interfax.ru quoted Advocaat as saying.
