Lyudmila Sargsyan: authorities see a possibility of snap elections![]() February 21, 2011 - 13:31 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairperson of Social Democrat Hunchakian Party Lyudmila Sargsyan stated that the declaration of the ruling coalition proves that the authorities see a possibility of snap elections and are preparing for them. “This also evidences that they are not sure of the outcomes, otherwise there would be no need for such a move,” she told journalists in Yerevan As to Prosperous Armenia’s position, Sargsyan said the party and its leader, Gagik Tsarukyan, were just used in a struggle between Serzh Sargsyan and Robert Kocharian. For his part, member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Lernik Alexanyan said that the declaration was favorable not only for the authorities but for opposition as well, as the coalition parties have balanced their relations. He also emphasized that the declaration is not binding and Prosperous Armenia can withdraw its signature any moment. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
