Office of RA Prosecutor General initiates criminal case on violence against Pashinyan in prison

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Office of the RA Prosecutor General initiated a criminal case over violence in Kosh penitentiary on November 11, 2010, against opposition journalist Nikol Pashinyan, who has been imprisoned with respect to the March events in 2008.

Armenia’s Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan made the relevant decision. He has annulled the December 30, 2010, decision of the head of Kosh penitentiary on non-initiation of a criminal case on assault, noting that the preliminary investigation over the case was conducted with omissions.

Imprisoned editor of Haykakan Zhamanak paper Nikol Pashinyan informed of the assault on November 11, 2010. After investigation and questioning of other prisoners, the Armenian Ministry of Justice refuted the statement.
