French MP reminds his compatriots of Nagorno Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Member of the French Parliament, Alfortville Mayor René Rouquet published an article – 'Nations' Spring' - in the municipal newspaper, expressing his support to the nations seeking self-determination, according to the Permanent Mission of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic to France.

“The last weeks' events around the Arab nations' struggle for their independence let learn numerous lessons from this. The movement for freedom, the fate of which is being publicly determined, reminds us of the necessity of comprehending and respecting nations’ aspirations, as the desire for democracy is a human value in all the parts of the world.

In this context, let me remind of the nation living in another region of the world – the Nagorno Karabakh Armenians bravely struggling against Azerbaijan, which tries to suppress the will of this friendly-to-us nation to live free on its native land, in its own Republic. Today, 95 years after the unpunished Armenian Genocide, I confirm more than ever the inalienable right of Armenians to self-determination,” Mr. Rouquet said in his article.

He called on his country and the French diplomacy to respect “the nations seeking lasting peace and heroically struggling for the achievement of this,” the NKR MFA press service reported.
