Armenian judo wrestlers get off to bad start at European Championships

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian judo wrestlers got off to a bad start at Istanbul-hosted European Championships.

Hovhannes Davtyan (60 kg) beat Slovakian sportsman Matjaz Trbovc in the first combat, yet lost to Georgian wrestler Betkil Shukvani next.

Armen Nazaryan, Hambartsum Tonoyan (66 kg) dropped out in the very first combat, beaten by Byelorussian and Latvian sportsmen, Dzmitry Shershan and Deniss Kozlovs respectively.

Female judo wrestler Gayane Harutyunytan (48 kg) won a combat over a Belgian wrestler Charline van Snick, and next, lost to Germany's Severine Pesc.

A clash between Artyom Baghdasaryan (73 kg) and Romanian wrestler Adrian Nicolae Roumerge is due on April 22.
