Secretary General of World Tourism Organization to visit Armenia![]() July 1, 2011 - 18:13 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - The Secretary General of the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Riafi is planning his visit to Armenia from July 3 – 6, accompanied by the Executive Director for Member Relations and Services Zoltan Somogyi. As the Armenian Economy Ministry’s press office says, the delegation will meet with Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan within the framework of the visit. Besides, on July 5, Mr. Rifai will meet with representatives of Armenia tourism branch and international organizations Armenian offices. During the meetings, they will discuss actual problems of tourism field development in the world. It is planned to sign a Memorandum of understanding on tourism development initiative in South Caucasus region between the Armenian Ministry of Economy and the UN World Tourism Organization as a result of the meeting. ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
