Hay Dat: Azerbaijan realizes war would risk its oil interests![]() July 15, 2011 - 16:40 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Director of the ARF bureau's Hay Dat and political affairs office Kiro Manoyan said the possibility of a new war in Karabakh is low at the moment. As Kiro Manoyan told a news conference in Yerevan, Azerbaijan is likely to start a war in case Armenia-Turkey relations are settled or in case Baku is certain of its victory. “At present, Azeri President is patient with the conflict settlement, realizing that a war would risk the interests of Baku where oil is concerned. A war is undesirable to conflicting parties, as well as the mediators,” Manoyan said, however, not ruling out the possibility of a war altogether. Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution. President of the Armenian parliament Alen Simonyan met with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova. Partner news |
