Armenia needs efficient army to resolve Karabakh problem peacefully![]() August 10, 2011 - 13:04 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan on August 10 visited one of military units of the Armenian armed forces' second Army Corps and got familiar with conditions of soldiers’ service, Armenian Defense Ministry’s press office reports. Addressing the military men, the Minister briefed on reforms carried out in the army and touched upon relationship between officers and soldiers. Speaking about settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict Ohanyan particularly reminded of Armenian authorities’ stand, according to which Karabakh problem should be resolved peacefully based on negotiations. “Therefore, Armenia needs an efficient army capable to protect the country’s borders,” the said. Later, the Minister attended the shooting ground of the military unit to watch fire trainings. Besides, he visited the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani armed forces, talked with soldiers on military duty and awarded Armenian border guards with valuable gifts. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
