CHINA SUPPORTS AZERBAIJAN'S EFFORTS AIMED AT PROTECTING ITS TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY

PanARMENIAN.Net - 25.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Chinese Foreign Minister Tan Tziatsuyan stated during the negotiations with his Azeri counterpart Vilayat Guliyev that China supports Azeri efforts aimed at protecting its territorial integrity.

Xinhua informs that the Chinese minister stated that his state also supports the steps of the international community directed to the peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict. The Chinese Foreign Minister also spoke about the aspiration of China to enlarge cooperation with Azerbaijan. He thanked Azerbaijan for the support in Taiwan and Tibet issues.

Vilayat Guliyev emphasized a tangible progress in expansion of the Azeri-Chinese relations which was based on the mutual visits of top officials of the both states. He underlined that his state shares common positions with China regarding a number of very important intentional problems. Azerbaijan, according to the minister, is firm in its support of the position of Chinese People's Republic regarding the Taiwan issue, its resolute efforts for providing common positions in the state for fight against separatism and terrorism.

Upon the end of negotiations the sides signed bilateral protocol on economic cooperation. --0--
