YEREVAN GOES ON STATING THAT ISSUE ON TERRITORIAL SWAP HAS NEVER BEEN NEGOTIATED

PanARMENIAN.Net - 20.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. This week a number of Armenian politicians accused the Armenian President Kocharian saying that he continues negotiating around the plan on territorial swap with Azerbaijan. The political secretary of the Union of Socialist Forces of Armenia Ashot Manucharian, President of 21st Century association Arkadiy Vardanian and leader of 21st Century party David Shahnazarian came forward with such a statement.

President Kocharian now undergos medical check-up in one of the European states. Under the information Mediamax possesses, the President will be back to Armenia on October 21.

Commenting the statement by Ashot Manucharian which says that the politicians murdered during the October 27, 1999 act of terrotirsm had become the victims of the plan on territorial swap the presidential spokesman Vahe Gabrielian said: "Manucharian made such an outrageouse statements that it is even noneseless to give any comments. I think that the real goal for such groundless statements is to draw the attention to his own personality."

In his turn the spokesman of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Ara Papian stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan have never negotiated on the issue of territorial swap. --0--
