Carl Bildt: EU to encourage Armenia, Azerbaijan for Karabakh conflict peaceful resolution

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Nagorno Karabakh conflict causes trouble not only for Armenia and Azerbaijan, but also for the entire region and the international community, Sweden’s Foreign Minister said.

“We should encourage Armenia and Azerbaijan to find a peaceful settlement to the conflict. In this, Sweden supports the OSCE Minsk Group’s efforts, since peace can be achieved through negotiations only,” Carl Bildt said.

He called on both parties to refrain from bellicose statements and instead lay ground for peace among the population. “The EU is to support the process and demonstrate people in the region that a lot may be achieved by peaceful means,” APA quoted Bildt as saying.
