DEFENSE MINISTER OF ARMENIA LEAVES FOR GREECE TODAY

PanARMENIAN.Net - 03.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The Minister of Defense of Armenia Serzh Sarkisian leaves for Greece today on the invitation of his Greek counterpart Akis Tsokhadzopulos.

As was reported to MEDIAMAX in the Information department of the Defense Ministry of Armenia, the Armenian military delegation will take part in the 11th "Defender International 2000" exhibition, to be held in the Athens on October 3-7. Serzh Sarkisian will also hold negotiations with the Greek National Defense Minister Akis Tsokhadzopulos and other top military officials of Greece.

The Chief of the Headquarters of the Greek Armed Forces Manusos Parayudakis, who visited Armenia on August 28-31, 2000, especially stressed the importance of cooperation in the military-industrial field, "taking into consideration Armenia's great potential in this area". The Greek General noted that during his visit an agreement was achieved on the activation of Armenian-Greek military relations in a number of directions. -0-
