Azeri POW refuses to return to Baku![]() September 26, 2011 - 14:22 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani POW Roman Guseynov was transferred to “safe third country” through the mediation of United Nations High Commission for Refugees and representatives of International Organization for Migration (IOM) Armenia. According to Armenian Defense Ministry’s press service, the soldier refused to return to Baku asking for asylum in a “safe third country”. Junior sergeant Roman Guseynov was taken captive on August 27, 2010. Guseynov served as contract soldier and yielded himself prisoner because of humiliating attitude of his commanders. As a result of floods in Armenia’s northern Lori and Tavush provinces, 17 bridges, including five large ones, have collapsed. David Vardanyan is the son of former Karabakh leader Ruben Vardanyan who who is currently imprisoned in Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has met with Stephan Schütz, Executive Partner at Gerkan, Marg and Partners. The number of state universities will be reduced from 23 to 8 by 2030, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan has said. Partner news |
