YEREVAN ADMINISTRATION DID NOT SANCTION PROTEST ACTION OF ECOLOGISTS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today the city administration of Yerevan turned down the request of a number of ecological organizations to hold a protest action against destruction of the green cover of the capital for building cafes and other establishments. As chairman of the Armenian Charitable Environmental Fund Armen Dovlatian told journalists, the environmental organizations demand that the construction in Yerevan to be held in compliance with environmental norms. According to the data of ecologists, at the beginning of 2000 there were over 2000 hectares of green plantations, and in the current year the indicator has reduced almost four times.
