Economy Minister: Armenia has learned to withstand crisis![]() December 2, 2011 - 12:00 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Tendencies of growth are already observed in Armenia’s economy, Armenian Economy Minister said. According to Tigran Davtyan, Armenia envisages 5% GDP growth based on 2011 indices. In this context, Minister Davtyan noted that the increase is conditioned by intensive growth of the real economy sector. “Based on 2011 outcomes, increase will be recorded in export and investment volumes Growth in agriculture and decline in construction industry will be observed respectively,” Davtyan said adding that 13% growth has already been recorded in tourism. Dwelling on external risks, the Minister expressed hope that governments will find a solution to overcoming the crisis, “while Armenia has already learned to withstand it based on previous experience, government heads already resorting to preventive measures, without waiting for its occurrence.” ![]() ![]() Yerevan has dismissed Turkey’s demand to shut down the Armenian nuclear power plant as “inappropriate”. Armenia will loan 2.9 billion drams to Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), according to a draft government decision. The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan has “strongly condemned” Armenia’s decision.
