ARMENIAN DEFENSE MINISTER VISITED NATO COMMAND HEADQUARTERS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Today a meeting of defense minister of Armenia Serge Sargsian with commander of NATO combined forces and US Supreme Allied Commander in Europe James Jones was held in Mons, Belgium. As reported by "Mediamax" agency, this is the first visit of the Armenian defense minister to the headquarters of the NATO operations supreme command. The parties discussed the outcomes of cooperation of Armenia and the NATO within "Partnership for Peace" program in 2003. Issues of participation of an Armenian detachment in peacekeeping operations in Kosovo were also considered. The Armenian minister was familiarized with NATO current operations being held in the Balkans and Afghanistan. S. Sargsian also visited "Partnership for Peace" program coordination center.
