State budget replenished by AMD 170 mln through SCPEC efforts

PanARMENIAN.Net - In the framework of legislative reforms to improve competitive climate in Armenia and protect the consumer rights, the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC) called 193 unconscientious economic entities to responsibility against 103 in 2010.

In 2011, the unconscientious economic entities were fined AMD 370 mln in total, against AMD 37 mln in 2010, with AMD 170 mln allocated to state budget against AMD 20 mln in 2010.

As the Commission chairman Artak Shaboyan stated at Dec 19 SCPEC board sitting, “SCPEC doesn't pursue a special purpose of imposing fines on unconscientious economic entities. Our efforts are aimed at improvement of competitive climate and protection of consumers' interests.”
